Project Logistics Group Pushes Toward
Premier Global Position within 2005
“After a Successful Dubai Meeting the GPLN is on Track to be World’s Largest
Project Logistics Group”
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 10th, 2005 – The Global Project Logistics
Network (GPLN) is on a solid path to becoming the largest project logistics
group in the world after their recent successful Dubai meeting. “I am
certain that by the end of 2005 GPLN will be the best known group of our
kind” says Mr. Gary Dale Cearley, GPLN Executive Director. Mr. Cearley
points out that although GPLN only opened for membership in August 2004, it
has already grown to become the second largest project logistics group in
the world. The GPLN meeting in Dubai’s attendance was a 41% increase over
their Dublin meeting in 2004. “The attraction to GPLN has been and is the
quality of our membership” adds Mr. Cearley, “when prospective members see
that we aren’t just putting flags on the map and are actually handpicking
real project experts around the world, their decision to join us becomes
much, much easier.”
Dubai was chosen as the meeting venue due to the fact that it is a true
international projects city in every sense of the word as well as being a
major worldwide logistics hub and financial center. The two-day meeting was
sponsored by the Chapman Freeborn, a global leader in aircraft chartering.
Michael Roth of Chapman Freeborn’s Dubai operation made a presentation to
the group regarding their project cargo capabilities. Other presenters were
Emirates SkyCargo and CNC Freight of Port Klang, Malaysia. The local host
for the meeting was the well known oil and gas logistics specialist,
PETRASCO Middle East. The GPLN Annual Global Meeting was held in Dubai on
April 26th and 27th at the DNATA Conference Centre and was well attended by
project logistics specialists from around the world.
GPLN is a rapidly growing major non-exclusive network of independent project
logistics companies and service providers for projects logistics companies.
Global members can be found on the GPLN website (http://www.gpln.net).
